The state of the art architectural design and decoration of Bisate Lodge is derived from Rwandan traditional building and designs as epitomized in the intricate designs of the Royal Palace of the Traditional Monarch in Nyanza. Its globe-shaped and thatched designs are a replica of the thousand of hills and the Virunga Volcanoes, whereas the generously thorough interior designs display surfaces and partitions made from several woven materials with strong resonance of Rwandan rich culture.

There are over 10 habituated Mountain gorilla groups that can be tracked within Volcanoes National Park, hence 80 gorilla permits are available per day. This activity takes between 30 minutes and over 6 hours and starts with pre-tracking briefing at Kinigi Park Headquarters.
